Dr. Mya Haidar, BSc, DDS

Hi, I’m Dr. Mya

Associate Dentist

Dr. Mya’s passion for dentistry began long before she entered dental school. Growing up in Halifax, she was inspired by watching her mother, Dr. Nada, build a career centered on compassionate patient care and community involvement. Those early experiences sparked her own interest in health care and ultimately led her to pursue a career in dentistry. Joining North End Dentistry feels like a meaningful full-circle moment as she begins her professional journey alongside the team that helped shape her path.

After earning a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Dalhousie University in 2022, Dr. Mya continued her education at Dalhousie’s Faculty of Dentistry, where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2026. She is committed to providing patient-centered care and creating a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable, respected and supported. With a compassionate and empathetic approach, Dr. Mya values building lasting relationships with her patients and helping them achieve healthy, confident smiles.

Dedicated to lifelong learning, Dr. Mya is eager to continue expanding her clinical skills through continuing education, mentorship and professional development. She also looks forward to giving back to the community through volunteer initiatives, carrying forward the spirit of service that has inspired her from a young age.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Mya enjoys spending time with family and friends, including her beloved dog, Yeti. She loves staying active, travelling and discovering new restaurants throughout the city. Proud to be joining the North End Dentistry team, Dr. Mya is excited to serve the Halifax community she has always called home.

My Approach

I believe excellent dentistry begins with listening. I take the time to understand each patient’s concerns, goals and previous experiences with dental care. By leading with empathy and communicating openly, I aim to build trust and create an environment where you feel comfortable asking questions. When you feel heard and understand your options, you can make confident decisions about your care.

Care Tailored to You

No two smiles - or lives - are the same. I consider your health history, lifestyle, comfort and personal goals when recommending treatment, so your care plan feels appropriate, manageable and genuinely tailored to you.

Prevention

Prevention is the foundation of long-term oral health. Through regular examinations, early detection and practical guidance for home care, I work with you to reduce future problems and maintain a healthy smile over time.

Leading with Empathy

Visiting the dentist can feel different for everyone. I listen to your concerns, respect your comfort level and explain each step clearly. By moving at a pace that works for you, I want you to feel supported and in control throughout your care.
